TRUST IS OBEDIENCE

Recently an anointed prophet of God said to me, “Clay, do you realize that trusting God for whatever you face is the highest and most constant level of exercising faith?” At the moment in time that statement was made to me, faith and trust exploded into one meaning – to trust God is to be obedient.

Part of the error in the word of faith movement, in my opinion, has been to focus us on OUR FAITH for a single thing, event, or need in our life. For me, faith is easier exercised when I trust or have faith in God and not MY FAITH! Mark 11:23 tells us to “Have faith in God…” The word (Romans 14:23) tells us “anything that is not of faith is sin,” therefore; staying in a constant state of trust is not only obedience, but also faith in God. The revelation of this will release a peace that passes all human understanding.

As I pondered this, the Lord spoke the following to me:

“Trust and obedience are parallel issues in the Spirit. To trust is to walk in obedience. Those that trust (walk in obedience) will eat the fruit of the land. Worry is the opposite of trust and is a form of disobedience. Those that walk in disobedience and do not trust Me, will not see the joy, the fruit, the peace and the victory I provide.

Recognize that by casting your care upon Me, you are releasing my strategy for your victory. Draw near to Me and I will cover you with protection and peace through any situation you can possibly face.

Many challenges lie ahead; your proximity (nearness) to me will determine the extent of the victory you achieve in each situation. True trust (obedience) will require that you not lean to your own understanding, but flow with my word and my way, which is your strategy for victory. My word will always separate you from the world and all it can bring to oppose you.”
