2005 Outlook
Jan 05, 2005

Dear Readers,

In coming days more will be presented on the subject of 2005. Like many of you, the Lord has spoken of critical issues relative to this year, to include character flaws that will be exposed in us. These flaws will produce swift and quick judgment from on high, but as this judgment falls we must recognize that the judgment of God is not against us, but for us, IF IT PRODUCES REPENTENCE! If not, we are left with our miserable failures.

Our difficulties are designed to reveal truth (to us). As Arthur Burt often says, "It is not what you do, but why you do it!" The true motive of our actions will be revealed by the evidence of our outcomes. As a Christian businessman, I cannot do busniess with a motive of money. If so, the results are catastrophic! I can only do what I hear the Father say do (in busniess). As long as I follow that principle things flow in a Godly order. When altered, they do not! I speak from the voice of experience.

If the motive to take an action does not originate with the Holy Spirit WATCH OUT! Even if our intentions are good, we find ourselves in an hour in which the motive must be God, or suffer the consequences. Be aware that good intentions caused by empathy for others, if not founded in the origin of the Holy Spirit, will produce chaos. God is truely calling our "good works" into accountability. To some this may sound harsh, but to those called to true sonship the bar of accountability has been raised.

Steve Liebherr's submission below falls directly in line with what I sense the Spirit of God saying. I trust your spirit will bear witness to what is written here.

In Him,

Clay

Clay,

If you agree, I'd like to submit this to the website audience for review and see if the Lord is speaking a similar message to their hearts or not.

I have inquired of the Lord for what He has to say for the upcoming year of 2005, and I have been impressed with the following…

I have heard three "J's". The first "J" is Jesus. Jesus has been and will continue to be the emphasis of the Holy Spirit's work to get us conformed into the image of Christ Jesus.

The second "J" is joining. The past couple years the Holy Spirit has been calling us to become intimate with the one we call Savior and Lord. Time and again we've been encouraged, sometimes with a sense of urgency, to move deeper in relationship with Him, to be joined as one. As I look back, I sense this second "J" of joining as a time of preparation for what is to come in the third "J", which is what will begin in 2005.

The third "J" I heard is judgment, and this is going to manifest somehow in 2005. I'm not quite sure what the Lord is speaking, but the following scripture verses seem to be involved. I have divided the verses into two categories: 1) Salt; and 2) Judgment.

Salt
Matthew 5:11,13:  Blessed are you when men cast insults at you, and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely, on account of Me…You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt has become tasteless, how will it be made salty again? It is good for nothing anymore, except to be thrown out and trampled under foot by men.

Mark 9: 49-51:  For everyone will be salted with fire. (KJV also adds: and every sacrifice shall be salted with salt.) Salt is good: but if the salt becomes unsalty, with what will you make it salty again? Have salt in yourselves, and be at peace with one another.

Luke 14:27, 33-35:  Whoever does not carry his own cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple….So therefore, no one of you can be My disciple who does not give up all his own possessions. Therefore, salt is good; but if even salt has become tasteless, with what will it be seasoned? It is useless either for the soil or for the manure pile; it is thrown out. He who has ears to hear, let him hear.

Judgment
Genesis 1:2-4:  And the earth was formless and void, and darkness was over the surface of the deep...Then God said, "Let there be light"; and there was light....And God separated the light from the darkness.

1 Peter 4:16-19:  ..but if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not feel ashamed, but in that name let him glorify God. For it is time for judgment to begin with the household of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God? And if it is with difficulty that the righteous is saved, what will become of the Godless man and the sinner? Therefore, let those also who suffer according to the will of God entrust their souls to a faithful Creator in doing what is right.

James 2:12-13:  So speak and so act, as those who are to be judged by the law of liberty. For judgment will be merciless to one who has shown no mercy; mercy triumphs over judgment.

John 9:39:  For judgment I am come into this world, that those who do not see may see; and that those who see may become blind.
12:31,32:  Now judgment is upon this world; now the ruler of this world shall be cast out. And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to Myself
16:8-13:  and he, when He comes, will convict the world concerning sin, and righteousness, and judgment; concerning sin, because they do not believe in Me; and concerning righteousness, because I go to the Father, and you no longer behold Me; and concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world has been judged. I have many more things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come.

1 Corinthians 4:4,5:  For I am conscious of nothing against myself, yet I am not by this acquitted; but the one who examines me is the Lord. Therefore do not go on passing judgment before the time, but wait until the Lord comes who will both bring to light the things hidden in the darkness and disclose the motives of men's hearts; and then each man's praise will come to him from God.

Again, I'm not quite sure I have the full message or context of what He's speaking, but I sense that in 2005, the Lord is going to add the third "J" into the mix of the previous two "J's", and He will be drawing a line of separation or distinction between what's true from false, what's genuine from fake, what's pure from impure, what's light from darkness.

Currently, there is darkness over the church in America. God is declaring "Let there be light." His light will be manifested through His judgment. How this judgment will manifest, I don't know. I sense the Lord will use whatever He feels is necessary. This judgment will bring to light those things we've hidden in the darkness and it will also disclose the motives of our heart. It will go so far as even to determine who is salt and who is not. The intention is to bring us to repentance and turn our hearts to Him completely (underscored intentionally to emphasize that partially is not good enough). I do feel that this is the beginning of a critical hour for many. The future course of many in the body will be settled in this hour of judgment. I sense the Lord will use this judgment period as a tool to bring about a major change He has in store in the structure and function of His church.

Respectfully submitted,
